Opening of a health center for cohort study

According to the information center of National Elites Foundation, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Seyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, minister of health, treatment and medical treatment, inaugurated the “health center for cohort study for staff of Tehran University of Medical Sciences”.

According to the executive manager of this center, this type of studies are clinical trials, conducted in group form using retrospective and futuristic approaches to evaluate the causes of damages and diseases.

Hamid Reza Pouragha stated the staff of Tehran University of Medical Sciences have been a wide target group of studies over the past 20 years, adding: during this 20 years, we have evaluated the changes occurred in health of the staff with regard to the role of various factors and conditions. In addition, various factors, including occupation, air pollution, nutrition status and a great number of other components that affect the health status of society members were assessed.

The vice president for science and technology affairs and minister of health, treatment and medical education visited different sections of the pre-clinical comprehensive laboratory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, learning about the abilities of this place.

The pre-clinical comprehensive laboratory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences is the first laboratory that is created with advanced laboratory equipment and by knowledge-based companies of the country. This laboratory provides the foundation for pre-clinical tests and research based on imaging physic, presenting all of their services to researchers in the form of a strategic technology laboratory network.

This comprehensive laboratory was opened this July in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs, Kamal Kharazi, secretary of headquarters for development of science and cognitive technologies, Saeed Sarkar, secretary of nanotechnology development headquarter, and Ali Jafarian, head of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

The vice president for science and technology affairs and minister of health, treatment and medical education also visited the achievements and capacities of “Mowafaghian research center of intelligent neuro-rehabilitation technologies”. This center has been established with the help of Sharif University of Technology, in which the development of intelligent systems is carried out to treat and rehabilitate patients with motion disturbances due to neurological abnormalities.

Sattari and Ghazizadeh Hashemi visited an equipped motion analysis laboratory in the country during their visit of Mowafaghian Center. This laboratory provides services for domestic and international research groups from advanced research service centers to detect motor abnormalities and evaluate treatment methods.

 

In addition, the rehabilitation research clinic with equipment for studying the motion patterns of patients, electronic and mechanical workshop and motion sensors for providing services, equipment and rehabilitation device prototyping in these centers for researchers, technologists and patients.
