In an event in the presence of the successor of commander-in-chief of the IRGC and the vice president for science and technology affairs, the Supreme Leader of Iran returned 118 medals gifted to him by winners of global Olympiads to the owners of the medals.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, 135 winners of global Olympiads gifted their medals to the Supreme Leader, which were returned to them in a ceremony entitled “the best gift”.

During the event, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, pointed out that the human resources of Iran must be the basis for its economy, stating: stabilizing and establishing the basis of the country's economy based on manpower will bring about major changes in oil structures.

He also talked about the current sensitive situation of Iran, affirming: Iran is having sensitive days. We are at a time when there may be no objective manifestation of war, but we are fighting the enemies and we must make fundamental changes to the economy of the country.

According to Sattari, Hafte Tir martyrs’ memorial stadium is a place to remember the bravery of revolutionary people. Today, we are in the presence of elites of the country and I believe that we must change our economic structures to win the war against the enemies.

The vice president for science and technology affairs considered elites the source of fundamental changes in the economy of the country, emphasizing the use of talents and the abilities of this powerful group of people.

Sattari continued: Iran has good status in various fields of nano, aerospace and stem cells in the world. We must meet the needs and shortcomings of these fields with the help of the elite.

The president of the national elites foundation also marked: we owe these advances to the martyrs and their families, and we must not forget who helped us see the world. The last person to fight us was Saddam, where is he now? I want to say we need Iran and the nation; otherwise, our country is very rich and powerful.

Mentioning the shortages in the educational system of Iran, he added: despite all these shortcomings in this education system, people are being trained around the world to attract and apply them.

The Hafte Tir martyrs’ memorial stadium hosted the event of “the best gift” on February 13th, 2020 to return medals gifted to the Supreme Leader. During the ceremony, memorial badges were given to 135 medal-winners who gifted their medals to the Supreme Leader in the presence of General Ali Fadavi, the commander-in-chief of the IRGC, and the president of the national elites foundation.
