“The number of top universities in Iran” and “the number of Iranian articles” in Scopus and Leiden have increased during 2016-2018.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, statistical comparison of quantity of science production of Iran during 2016-2018 shows that Iran has had a growth in this field.

According to ISI, Iran’s rank slightly improved, in a way that its rank was enhanced from 18 to 16 in 2018. However, no change was observed in Scopus.

In addition, Scopus showed that Iran was ranked first in the region in terms of science production in the past three years.

In addition, article production significantly increased in the two mentioned headquarters.

 

 

 

The number of Iranian articles on Scopus increased in 2017, in a way that 52,577 articles were published in 2016 while 56,059 papers were published in 2017. This ascending trend continued in 2018 as well.

On the other hand, the number of Iran's top universities has also grown in the world's top two ranking systems in the last three years. In this regard, Leiden and Times reported an increase in the number of top universities of Iran from 14 to 23 universities and from 8 to 18 universities, respectively.
