According to the information center of national elites foundation, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, expressed on the technological gathering of industries, knowledge-based companies and startups in the automotive industry, asserting: the future of the automotive industry lies in the hands of young people and startups, and this new generation can secure the future of the industry.
Pointing out the difference between having a factory and an industry (there is no need for elites and entrepreneurship in having a factory), Sattari marked: we should not forget that we have a factory and not an industry, meaning that we just assemble products and lack the industrial knowledge sector that produces value added.
The president of the national elites foundation mentioned that products are the result of investment of the private sector in research, and government money cannot lead to product manufacturing. In this respect, he added: the Vice-Presidency supports industries and not factories since having a factory is what we have used instead of establishing an industry.
The chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation continued: we can design and produce a product in industry, and we just assemble in a factory. Assembling means importing products from China during sanctions and supplying products from France during peace and not attempting to produce and design products ourselves. Startups provide the human resources required for the knowledge-based ecosystem.
The head of knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter emphasized that startups supply the human resources required for the knowledge-based ecosystem, asserting: these startups are turned into a knowledge-based company and inject and train human resources requested for knowledge-based economy.
The vice president for science and technology affairs continued: the current automotive industry in the country does not pay attention to the design and production of Iranian products and does not have a production line whose value-added reaches other countries and is the frontier of knowledge.
Sattari pointed out the lack of need for university, entrepreneurial workforce and elites in assembling due to lack of linkage of the field with the university and its reliance on underground resources, adding: dynamism of product is the essence of the industry, and this dynamic industry can be linked to the university and the ecosystem of technology and innovation.
The chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation asserted that having a factory is a wrong way of producing products, expressing: we can claim product production when we rely on innovative and elaborate product design and production rather than assembling a non-dynamic product.
The vice president for science and technology affairs pointed out that the future of automotive industry is in the hands of our capable startups, asserting: if the ecosystem of technology and innovation and startups are formed in Iran, the future of all industries, especially the automotive industry, will be clear.
Sattari opened the exhibition of technological products of companies and startups in the automotive industry, which is held in the presence of 82 knowledge-based companies, 13 large automotive corporations, and 13 industries of Iran for three days.
On the first day of the event, an agreement was signed with a value of 49 billion tomans between Tejarat Electronic Arsh Gostar and Iran Electronic Components Industries regarding the supply of airbags for automobiles in the presence of Sorena Sattari and Ali Vahdat, the head of Iran national science fund.
