Iran launches special commission to support artistic elites
The head of Iran’s National Elites Foundation announced that a special commission has been established to identify and support outstanding artists in Iran, aimed at recognizing and nurturing influential figures in the arts who operate outside traditional academic frameworks, the foundation’s Information Center reported.

Hossein Afshin, who also serves as Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, stated that the National Elites Foundation has long focused on supporting scientific talents but now seeks to extend its efforts to the artistic community.
“Artists, like scientific elites, play a vital role in shaping our culture and society. The commission will ensure they receive the recognition and support they deserve,” he said.
The commission will operate through a transparent and precise process to identify artists based on their significant contributions and impact across various artistic fields, the vice president stated.
Afshin emphasized that the selection criteria will focus on professional excellence and influence, ensuring that only the most distinguished artists are recognized.
Preparations for the commission are underway, with consultations among experts to finalize its structure. The commission members will include prominent artists and professors, who will oversee the identification and support process, he pointed out.
