According to the Communications and Information Center of the Vice-Presidency, Hossein Afshin notied that while AI has seen significant global growth since 2010, Iran is only now beginning to make strides in this domain.

 

Afshin, who is also the head of the Iranian National Elites Foundation, stressed the importance of bold leadership to drive innovation, stating, “We need courageous managers who can embrace new systems and enhance the productivity of traditional frameworks.” 

He emphasized the role of universities in nurturing talent, proposing the introduction of AI-focused curricula and projects to engage students. 

Iran has already launched major AI initiatives in energy, water, and environmental sectors, with promising results anticipated. 

Afshin reiterated the Iranian government’s readiness to support systemic changes and take responsibility for any challenges that arise. 

The vice president also warned against prioritizing news over substance and the spread of pseudoscience in AI, urging a focus on replicating successful models.
