The official statistics presented by the national elites foundation on the emigration of top ranks of university entrance exam are an evidence for rejecting baseless claims in this regard.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, quoted by Iran emigration gate, in terms of evaluation of claims on emigration of elites that are often expressed as a hot media topic, it is expressed: “the national elites foundation announced that 308 Olympiad gold winners and 350 top ranks of university entrance exam have exited the country during 2003-2007.

This claim is made while the studies of the national elites foundation show that a mean of 15% of top ranks (below 1000 in each test) emigrated during 2006-2015. In addition, the national elite foundation has never released official statistics on migration of Olympic medalists and top test scores.

Hosseini, the cultural deputy of the national elites foundation, pointed out a part of this information in an interview during the event of appreciating the top ranks of university entrance exam in 2013 (published on October 1^st, 2013 by Mehr News Agency), stating: from 1020 medal winners of scientific Olympiads during 2003-2007, 712 (70%) are inside the country and 308 (30%) are outside the country.

According to Hosseini, 1403 top ranks of university entrance exam during 2003-2007 are inside the country and 350 are outside the country.

Therefore, the information shows that about 80% of the top ranks are inside Iran and 20% of them are outside Iran. In addition, with regard a non-published new research in 2019 by the national elites foundation, around 35,313 people from the rank of below 1000 passed the national exams in the years 2006-2015. In the years surveyed, about 5,460 people, accounting for about 15% of the population have emigrated. These statistics are 5% lower than the statistics announced by the cultural deputy.

Another claim states: “in addition, the weekly journal of Management and Planning Organization wrote: 90 out of 125 students who have won World Championships in the last three years now study at US universities. In response to this claim, it can also be said that no evidence or documentation was found for this reference and the alleged statistics in this section.
