The vice president for science and technology affairs announced the development of a 25-year joint cooperation document between Iran and China, stating: this comprehensive plan is designed and will be soon finalized. The document will help expand comprehensive cooperation in different areas.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, the ceremony for commemoration of the 70^th Anniversary of Establishment of the People's Republic of China hosted Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs.

During his speech, Sattari talked about the historical background of Iran-China cooperation and cooperation capacities of the two countries in different areas, expressing: Iran in the West and China in East Asia are two ancient and rich Asian civilizations whose cultural reach and civilizational achievements have made the two peoples cultural neighbors.

He added: the long history of many cultural and historical partnerships and shared views on many important international issues is testament to this, as there has never been a difficult challenge between the two countries in history and there has always been cooperation.

Congratulating the 70^th Anniversary of Establishment of the People's Republic of China, Sattari regarded the strategic relations between Iran and China as the foundation for development of interactions in the field of knowledge-based economy, asserting: given the strategic nature of the two countries' relations, I emphasize the development of cooperation in various fields, including political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological areas.

According to Sattari, the Silk Road has historically brought the scientific and cultural achievements of these two Asian civilizations to other nations on other continents. In this regard, he marked: the territorial advantages and historical background of the interaction of the two civilizations of Iran and China will provide for special economic cooperation, especially in the field of knowledge-based companies and startups.

The president for the national elites foundation considered shared views of the two countries a foundation for dealing with threats, affirming: these shared perspectives on the security and economic threats posed by unilateralism in the international arena, countering extremism, and terrorism and extremist currents have given the two countries a strategic nature, which is emphasized in the comprehensive, strategic joint document published in 2015 and during the travel of Xi Jinping to Iran.

Development of Cooperation by Establishment of a 25-year Joint Document

Pointing out the development of a 25-year comprehensive joint cooperation document between Iran and China, Sattari declared: based on Paragraph 6 of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Statement, a 25-year comprehensive joint cooperation document has been developed and will be soon finalized. This bilateral cooperation document involves various areas.

The vice president for science and technology affairs mentioned the development of cooperation based on this document, stating: this document shows a long-term view on the cooperation between Iran and China. 

Cooperation Will Be Expanded by Innovation

The vice president for science and technology affairs expressed that innovation has provided a new view toward the joint cooperation between east and west of Asia. In this respect, he claimed: the transit advantages, geopolitical and geoeconomic position of the two countries, and the complementarity of the economy of these two countries have provided a special place for multilateral cooperation in the context of this idea. Therefore, in addition to welcoming the ideas, the Islamic Republic of Iran cooperates in them. Without a doubt, expansion of cooperation in the science and technology field and exchange of experiences and achievements in this area will increase the richness of relationships.

He also asserted: at the international level, the two countries have worked closely together to maintain global peace and stability, while protecting the independence and interests of nations in combating unilateralism and advancing multilateralist approaches.
