Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies
development headquarter, pointed out the importance of development of
universities of the countries in all aspects of new technologies, such as stem
cells, in the opening ceremony of executive performance of cell city project,
stating: all of the universities must act in order to develop a new science
with an entrepreneurship view and creation of occupation using the current
potentials.

He also expressed that the Vice-Presidency has aimed to reduce the
space between academic productions and market, affirming: cell city is an
organization being formed for the first time in the country. Hamidieh regarded
the cooperation of Kharazmi University as the government section with the
private sector to establish this large project as one of the goals of the headquarter
in the implementation of large projects with the cooperation of the non-government
section. In addition, he announced the establishment of many relevant
knowledge-based companies in the cell city in the next few years.

Infrastructures Must Be Provided for Investors of Knowledge-based
Economy

Mohammad Ali Najafi, governor of Alborz, stated on the opening
ceremony of the construction activities for the first cell city project in
Kharazmi University: today we have made a special task. Before, we were jealous
of movements of large universities in science area. However, we are prominent
in the area of science and technology.

Alborz governor marked: establishment of cell city and other
supportive actions have led to the return and attraction of adolescents and
elites to the country.

Formation of Technological and Entrepreneurial Universities to
Reduce the Distance between Knowledge and Market

Mohammad Ali Sobhanallahi, head of Kharazmi University, affirmed
that the school of science of Kharazmi University has the necessary potential
for scientific cooperation with cell city, asserting: therefore, the
non-government supports must be provided to create this city.

Following that, Mohammad Amir Amirkhani, manager of strategic
council of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter pointed
out that Iran has had a specialized emphasis on this area over the past 12
years, affirming: in the future years, a part of health market will be given to
the stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter.

Mohammad Ali Zahed, manager of cell city project, affirmed: cell
city will be constructed to perform research and product services in the area
of stem cells and regenerative medicine.   

The opening ceremony of executive operation for construction of
cell city in Kharazmi University was held in the presence of Amir Ali Hamidieh,
secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter,
Mohammad Ali Najafi, governor of Alborz, Mohammad Ali Sobhanallahi, head of
Kharazmi University, Fereydun Mahboudi, chairman of the board of the
biotechnology syndicate, Mohammad Amir Amirkhani, secretary of strategic
council of stem cells technologies and sciences development headquarter,
Mohammad Ali Zahed, manager of the cell city project, and a number of country authorities
and managers of universities.
