Growth of knowledge-based businesses and startups depends on the role-playing of the private sector.
According to the Public Relations and
information Center of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, Sorena
Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, pointed out the
investment of the private sector in innovative ideas of academics as a new
method to develop economy occupation and entrepreneurship on the opening
ceremony of the science and technology park of Sharif University of Technology,
stating: presence of the private sector in the area of support of startup and
knowledge-based businesses will lead to the development and formation of a new
technique in the economy of the country, where innovation is the most important
property.
He emphasized the ineffectiveness of
government investment on management, development and advancement of businesses,
asserting: presence of the private sector leads to the development of
knowledge-based businesses based on the needs of the society.
Sattari considered creativity and
innovation in prominent universities of the country, such as Sharif University
of Technology, to pave the way of flourishing of creativity of academics,
affirming: this university is a new model of support of knowledge-based businesses
by developing science and technology parks.
The vice president for science and
technology affairs considered the increasing growth of units and technological
centers around the mentioned university as the sign of development of
businesses from the heart of universities, mentioning: there are more than 320
technological and knowledge-based companies around the university, where more
than six thousand individuals have been recruited.
He continued: the majority of
employees and founders of these companies are young and creative Iranian
academics, who not only from Sharif University, but also from all universities
of Iran.
Establishment of 10 Technological
Units in the Science and Technology Park of Sharif
During this event, the vice president
for science and technology affairs visited the technology parks based in this
park.
The science and technology park of
Sharif encompasses of 10 technology units in areas of anti-wave wearable
products, information and communication technology equipment, nanotechnology
and e-health.
