Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, appreciated the new view of the province toward investment in the ideas of the youth and new businesses during his trip to Fars Province, stating: the formation of the ecosystem of technology and innovation has had many achievements, which we have witnessed in the Corona Crisis, and knowledge-based activists have taken good steps to combat the disease, from making diagnostic kits to disinfectants.
According to the information center of national elites foundation, Fars Innovation and Technology Pardis (technology valley) was opened in the presence of Sattari to create a place for booming of startup activities and development of knowledge-based products.
During the event, Sattari expressed: the establishment of this innovation campus is an activity that was carried out with the cooperation and support of donors, Shiraz University and the government, in order to accelerate the formation of the technology and innovation ecosystem. This ecosystem still exists in this province, and the support of the university, donors and investors for it, and the ideas of the creative youth, is an important event that we are witnessing.
Sattari continued: today, a new perspective has been created at University of Shiraz, in which support for startups and innovations has found its place. Of course, the governor's office has also taken appropriate measures to develop the knowledge-based economy with the help of the technology and innovation ecosystem.
Accelerated Move of Knowledge-based Companies
The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter talked about the visiting of knowledge-based companies and science and technology parks in the last day, adding: even though I have visited the achievements of the province's knowledge-based companies several times during my travels, each time these visits are new and I am confronted with new businesses and achievements. This shows the proper movement and formation of the technology and innovation ecosystem in this province.
Pointing out the achievements of Fars Province against corona disease, Sattari affirmed: activists of technology and innovation ecosystem in Fars province also entered the field well to deal with corona disease. We are witnessing the construction of corona detection kits in the province, and good measures have been taken in other areas, such as masks and disinfectants.
In terms of the commercialization of the products of new businesses, Sattari pointed out: in order for startups to thrive and commercialize their ideas, private companies must step in and the government must only provide the infrastructure. This is mainly due to the fact that new companies cannot be formed with loans. The researcher and inventor who thinks that money can come to fruition with government money is wrong, and a place like Science and Technology Park should help develop their product with advice and mentoring. However, the Vice-Presidency has considered facilities such as loans, financial and customs exemptions to help these companies.
According to the report, Sattari visited the knowledge-based companies located in Shiraz Industrial Town to accelerate the pace of their activities in the innovation and technology ecosystem in the province.
During the trip, the technologists and researchers of Shiraz Science and Technology Park will showcase their abilities to the vice president for science and technology affairs.
