The photonics, laser, advanced materials and construction technologies development headquarter has aimed to identify the innovative and technological cores of universities to develop the industry of materials and construction. Another goal of the headquarter is introducing the capacity and abilities of these centers to the work market by holding the competition of top team.


According to the information center of national elites foundation,given the importance of advanced materials and construction for the country, which is intertwined with relative advantages of the country from one hand and significantly affects other strategic abilities of the country from the other hand, the photonics, laser, advanced materials and construction technologies development headquarter has aimed to monitor and recognize the capacity of research teams and innovative projects in universities and research centers of the country, carried out with the goal of forming technological cores and knowledge-based universities in the field of construction and engineering of materials.


Some of the topics of this innovative event include “metals”, “polymers”, “glass and ceramics”, “composites”, “bio-products”, “smart compounds”, “recycling”, “construction and production processes”, and “complementary processes”.


The teams participating in the event must be three individuals from a university, including one faculty member as technology strategist and two MSc or PhD students (preferably one graduate), and there must be a potential market for the proposed projects.


The photonics, laser, advanced materials and construction technologies development headquarter supports the completion of the top research teams by providing targeted research grants and using the available infrastructures of the headquarter, such as laboratory network and patent registration office.


In addition, providing counseling and technical services through the network of trusted brokers, especial support of establishment of top teams in growth centers and technology parks, introducing the top teams to accelerators and venture capitals with the special support of the headquarter, supporting newly established knowledge-based companies based on the proposed idea and direct and indirect support of commercialization of ideas by Iran national science foundation are among other support of top teams.
