According to the information center of national elites foundation,Sorena Sattari, the vice
president for science and technology affairs, pointed out the increase of
significant share of women in learning knowledge and technology during a
meeting to sign an agreement between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology
affairs and the vice presidency for family and women affairs: in the beginning
of the Islamic revolution, about 23% of share of university entrance was
allocated to women. Meanwhile, about 54% of students in the universities and
higher education centers of the country are women.
Sattari continued: in addition, the significant role of Iranian
women in field of engineering is one of the unique properties of Iranian
creative human power, which has made a proper capacity for employment of women
in knowledge-based and startup businesses.
The vice president for science and technology affairs mentioned
the economic growth of the country due to the role-playing of a young and
educated human resource, a significant part of which is women, as the new
generation with efficient knowledge about their entrepreneurship, who aim to
effect the economy of the country and create occupation without dependence on
government employment. This important issue can provide the foundation for
emergence of knowledge-based economy more than ever.
President of the knowledge-based economy, technology and science
development headquarter talked about the necessity of creating models for young
women of the country, so that they are motivated to enter the area of
innovation and entrepreneurship, adding: entrepreneurship and practical
patterns must be created based on cultural criteria of elites, especially for
young women of the country.
Increase of Cooperation to Develop the Role of Women in
Entrepreneurship and Technology
Masoumeh Ebtekar, deputy for family and women affair, expressed
the importance of expansion of cooperation between the vice presidencies to
effectively increase the role of women in the economy and entrepreneurship of
the country, marking: this memorandum of understanding is a general roadmap,
which provides the foundation for future plans in order to improve the situation
of women in occupation and entrepreneurship in development of technology and
social transformations.
Pointing out the fact that despite the high educational level of
women in important fields, Ebtekar talked about the lack of proper occupation
opportunities for these individuals based on their educational abilities,
especially for female heads of household. In this regard, occupation is a
necessity and the necessary infrastructures must be provided in the area of
innovative business to create occupation for specific fields in the country.
In this meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between
the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and vice presidency of
family and women affairs in order to create synergy and use the actual and
potential opportunities in the mentioned vice presidencies.
