The first phase of comprehensive center for stem cells and regenerative medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences was opened in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs. Meanwhile, other projects in various provinces, such as Isfahan, Bushehr and Shahrekord were unveiled in his presence since the beginning of the Fajr Decade to witness a boom in the technology and innovation ecosystem and an increase in the number of support provided in the field.

During the ceremony, Sattari stated: many technologies will be soon developed and installing a clean room will lead to the formation of an infrastructure for the activity of the youth in the field.

The vice president for science and technology affairs continued: the Vice-Presidency supports the measures taken in the field. Tehran University of Medical Sciences has the potential to provide an opportunity for the youth to gather together.

The president of the stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter also marked: a new door is opened in the field of medical sciences by establishing the center in order to use the technology in the field at a faster pace. Young people and researchers working in the fields of engineering and medicine can do joint research activities at the center. Supporting collaborative projects is also a priority for the science department.

Sattari explained that the government has focused on the commercialization of stem cells in collaboration with the ministry of health and food and drug organization, affirming: the number of products approved by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education has also increased, and the number of knowledge-based companies in the area has increased to 100, which is a good number, not every country has such a large number of companies and products.

Knowledge-based Services and Products Are Unveiled

The knowledge-based products and services of two technological companies were unveiled during the ceremony. In total, 25 intermediate research material prototypes were unveiled in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine by Zharf Andishan Fanavar Zist Bespar Co.

These materials are used in various scientific fields such as stem cells and regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, chemistry, biology. These include natural and synthetic polymeric materials and their derivatives. They also have a high added value and their import cost is often up to 10 million Tomans per one gram of the material. Localization and production of these materials have a huge impact on the advancement of various sciences and industries of the country.

Unveiling a Service for Rare Genetic Diseases

In addition, “Xeomin” was unveiled as a solution for rare genetic diseases. This service will discover the genetic cause of the disease causing mutation by using artificial intelligence and analyzing the statistical results.
