Pointing out the ability of knowledge-based companies to produce the most advanced meteorological equipment, Sattari expressed: knowledge-based equipment required in the field of meteorology, such as advanced radars, will be made in Iran by implementing the contracts of related companies.

According to the information center of national elites foundation,, the ministry of roads and urban development hosted the signing of cooperation agreement with the Vice-Presidency and Iran Meteorological Organization in three fields.

Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, mentioned that supporting knowledge-based companies and startups is a way to eliminate domestic needs with Iranian products and services. In this regard, he added: the spirit of knowledge-based economy exists in the ecosystem of this economy, which will be realized through the interaction of different sectors and serious support of knowledge-based and startup businesses. These businesses are the most effective parts of the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Sattari explained that several knowledge-based companies have the most advanced meteorological equipment and they can more efficiently meet our needs, compared to foreign companies. In this regard, he marked: the majority of our needs can be met by domestic companies, and this agreement was signed today.

The chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation administration emphasized the extended interaction with Iran Meteorological Organization in nine fields, asserting: one of the most important topics is creating meteorological radars. These radars have very advanced technology and will soon become operational. This field is a new experience in the country and the domestic companies make this advanced equipment a reality.

Sattari also pointed out the area of urban life improvement and development of smart cities with the cooperation of ministry of roads and urban development.

The chairman of Iran national space and advanced transportation administration talked about evolution in road transportation with the help of knowledge-based companies and startups, marking: improvement in the field will be accelerated by the innovation of knowledge-based companies and startups. We have cooperated with road and transportation organization so that we will witness a serious change in the quality of road transport including passengers and bar cargoes with the advent of new technologies in this field.

In addition to appreciating the cooperation of ministry of roads and urban development and road and transportation organization of the country, Sattari expressed his hope about the removing barriers and bureaucracies and cooperation of different organizations to develop knowledge-based companies in this field.

Mohammad Eslami, the minister of road and construction, talked about cooperation with the Vice-Presidency to meet the country’s needs with the help of the innovation ecosystem activists, adding: one of the main policies of the ministry of roads and urban development under the current conditions and cruel sanctions is to utilize the capability of domestic companies, and cooperation with the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs has initiated a new chapter of collaboration on the basis of knowledge-based companies and startups.

The minister of roads and urban development pointed out the formation of a working group for urban development and creation of smart cities with the support of the Vice-Presidency.

In another part of the event, Sahar Tajbakhsh, head of Iran meteorological organization, stated: several meetings with the Vice-Presidency has led to the preparation of some documents in the field of advanced meteorological equipment with the help of knowledge-based companies.

Esmaeil Ghaderifar, head of strategic technologies development center, pointed out the serious support of commercialization of Iranian knowledge-based companies.

Ghaderifar mentioned: today, we witnessed the signing of three important agreements on automation of road transportation, supply of meteorological equipment, and advanced radars in line with forming an effective ecosystem to provide services to the public with the help of the knowledge-based economy and startups.

During the ceremony, an agreement was signed between the Vice-Presidency and ministry of road and urban development to construct advanced equipment. The agreement is worth 26 billion rials and is signed by the president of Iran meteorological organization and head of strategic technologies development headquarter. Supporting the production of domestic knowledge-based products and supporting technological development for qualitative production are among the topics of these agreements.
