Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, emphasized that Iran University of Science and Technology has initiated valuable moves toward being turned into a third-generation university, stating: investment on human resources is carried out in this move, which will increase value added in the country.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Mohammad Mokhber, the head of the headquarter for execution of Imam Khomeini's order, along with a number of authorities and professors inaugurated the first specialized women innovation center of “Mana” in Iran University of Science and Technology.

Highlighted Role of Human Resources in Formation of Ecosystem of Innovation and Technology

Pointing out the capacities of Iran in this field, Sattari mentioned: according to the global innovation index report, Iran has been ranked second and third in these areas. This process has been accelerated by forming the ecosystem of innovation and technology and focusing on human resources over the years.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter talked about important phenomenon started in universities of the country, asserting: this phenomenon is associated with change in quality of economy. In this respect, 15 top universities have initiated a suitable directing. This has been observed in different provinces and following the flourishing of ecosystem of innovation and technology. Therefore, investment on human resources has been expanded by creating sympathy among different state sectors, the private sector and venture capitals.

The vice president for science and technology affairs pointed out the power of science, affirming: this movement must be appreciated since creation of value added does not depend on selling raw materials and is in knowledge and technology used on raw materials. Fortunately, we can make improvements by using the human resources. Formation of the ecosystem of innovation and technology happens when the main focal point is human resources, and universities have proper direction and are being expanded in the country.

Role of Creative Human Resources in Economy of Country

The president of the national elites foundation emphasized the effective role of universities in economy of the country, stating: these human resources have made change with their innovation and creativity. This change must be initiated in university and expand outward.

In the end, Sattari marked: therefore, the formation of ecosystem must be initiated inside universities to make external changes. University is a part of society, culture, and economy of a country. A new culture is formed when students in universities seek change with their innovation and creativity. The primary parts of the culture are being generated in universities, economy and culture.

Goals of “Mana”

On August 27^th, 2019, Sattari inaugurated the first specialized women innovation center to increase the support of startups and create the innovation and technology ecosystem for women.

Increased involvement and collaboration of women in entrepreneurship and startup activities and standardization of maternal required space in collaborative workplaces, innovation centers, accelerators and knowledge based companies are the goals of launching this place.

“Mana” innovation center is formed with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and the headquarter for execution of Imam Khomeini's order. This center has three parts: the acceleration sector that encompasses two phases of pre-acceleration and acceleration of investment on women with creative ideas, so that these abilities could be deployed to establish knowledge-based companies. In this section, ideas grow and turn into stable businesses.
