According to the information center of national elites foundation, the manufactured humanoid walks, laughs, talks, and has even good strength in maintaining balance.
These are just some features of Sorena 4, which was unveiled at school of mechanical engineering in University of Tehran in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Pirouz Hanachi, the mayor of Tehran.
In addition, the ID card of “Sorena 4 Humanoid” born on December 14th, 2019 was signed by Sorena Sattari during the ceremony.
Artificial Intelligence Is the Foundation of Social Robots
During the ceremony, Sattari considered the design and manufacturing of Sorena 4 a great phenomenon, expressing: projects such as the design and construction of the Sorena humanoid have a breakthrough mode for activities in this field.
Sattari continued: areas such as artificial intelligence, mechanics, and information technology have important effects on the future of the world that need to be addressed in the country.
The vice president for science and technology affairs considered the development of new technologies in the country a necessity, adding: in addition to the executives of the project, three other knowledge-based companies are active in the field of manufacturing of social robots. The basis of these robots is artificial intelligence technology. Soon, we will see more robots unveiled.
The president of the national elites foundation marked: projects such as Sorena 4 show knowledge development in the country and successful commercialization of products in this field. Without a doubt, there will be robots in our lives in the future.
In another part of his speech, Sattari mentioned the Mini Sorena Project, affirming: Mini Sorena is another project that needs commercialization in order to be used in the field of education at schools and research centers.
The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter considered scientific moves such as design and construction of Sorena 4 as the emergence of a new spirit in universities, asserting: working in the areas of science and technology increases youth's hope for the future. Technological commercialization also helps people understand the workings of universities.
Unveiling Sorena 4 with Fundamental Changes Compared to Former Generations
During the ceremony, Peyman Salehi, deputy of technology innovation and commercialization development headquarter, mentioned that the support of knowledge and technology border projects is the main emphasis at the Vice-Presidency, stating: because these projects eliminate our current and future needs. Sorna 4 is one of those robotics projects that has been unveiled with significant improvements over its previous generations.
He continued: in this area, other projects are being implemented with the support of the macro projects center of the Vice-Presidency, including Sina Surgeon Robot. Today, this project is passing its testing and standardization stages to perform remote surgery.
According to the report, the design and manufacturing of Sorena 4 humanoid are completely domestic. The robot is more capable of interacting with the environment and has increased its level of intelligence than previous generations.
