Producing Iranian products will increase in the water and electricity field, especially by signing a cooperation agreement entitled development of innovation and technology ecosystem in the field of water and electricity. The agreement was signed between Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, and Reza Ardakanian, the minister of energy on January 19^th, 2020 to develop the ecosystem and establish Alborz Innovation Factory.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, During the ceremony, Sattari started his speech by pointing out the importance of development of technology and innovation ecosystem in the country, stating: growth in technology requires an ecosystem. This ecosystem has various actors such as academic centers, knowledge-based companies, accelerators, innovation centers, startups and innovation factories.

Sattari continued: the ecosystem has properly formed in some areas such as drug field. In addition, the ecosystem formed in drug field has proper academic centers and the ecosystem has met the drug needs of the country by producing Iranian products. New drugs will be produced in the next two years without the help of the government. These activities are such that we were able to produce the vaccine without government funding this year, and the next four will receive approval.

The vice president for science and technology affairs mentioned the role of food and drug organization in the drug ecosystem, adding: the organization is one of the most affiliated entities in the field of pharmaceutical technology, which is also needed in other ministries. Marketplace product endorsements and evaluations are well done by the organization.

Decrease of Energy Use Will Accelerate by Technological Ideas

In another part of his speech, Sattari appreciated the activities of energy research institute to form an innovation and technology ecosystem in water and electricity field, expressing: the energy research institute has initiated activities to develop this ecosystem. The institute does not conduct research in this field, but rather provides guidance and advice.

The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter expressed: there are good capacities in the field of water and electricity for knowledge-based companies to operate, and this wonderful marketplace is open to these companies and the ideas of young people.

Sattari pointed out the cruel sanctions against Iran, adding: if these sanctions work in one area, it means that we have lost the fighting soldiers in that area. The knowledge-based companies of our troops are at the forefront of this fight and their development is equivalent to the development of our division in this war.

The vice president for science and technology affairs considered new sciences such as artificial intelligence and internet of things to be suitable in the development of activities in water and electricity field, asserting: these technologies have the capability to look at them from any angle and apply them in the way they can be developed in areas such as energy saving.

The president of the national elites foundation marked: there are many ideas in demand response field, from ideas in the field of cognitive sciences to technical issues. Therefore, we can see a significant number of reductions in energy consumption and savings through the activities of knowledge-based companies.

During the ceremony, Zeynab Hamidzadeh, the assistant in the development of eco-innovation in the field of energy, talked about the joint cooperation program that is in line with the development of the innovation and technology ecosystem of electricity industry.

To Sign a Cooperation Agreement

The agreement was signed between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and ministry of energy to create a mechanism for cooperation, synergy and effective cooperation of players in the field of technology and innovation ecosystem. This will then identify and address the technological needs of the Ministry of Energy's subsidiaries. In addition, partnerships for market development of technological and innovative products, services, and solutions in the utilities and empowerment of knowledge-based companies and technology startups in the field are signed by signing this agreement.
