The false claim of demand for emigration of 150 thousand students in a way was made when the total number of international students of the world is about one-third of this figure.
According to the information center of national elites foundation, demand for emigration has been the subject of discussion in the academic society. In some cases, unreal claims have been made about the issue.
One of the claims expresses that about 150 thousand students demanded for emigration in 2012, most of whom had a PhD. In addition, 64% of Iranian students who won Olympiad medals have emigrated from Iran in the last 14 years.
The claim of demand of 150 thousand students to leave the country in a way has been made when the number of international students is one-third of this figure.
The UNESCO reported the total number of international students of Iran to be 49457 in 2012, which is less than one-third of what was falsely claimed (150 thousand people).
In addition, there are no statistics on the number of demands of students to leave the country.
This volume of demand in a year was three times higher than the international students of Iran. It is not logical that this number would reach two times higher in 2013. Meanwhile, international students of Iran in 2013 were 50819 people, and there has been an increase of just 1300 individuals.
Therefore, the increased number of international students of Iran does not match the falsely claimed number.
