The event for introducing Kish Innovation Tower and recognizing opportunities and advantages of the island's technology and innovation ecosystem was held in the presence of Abolfazl Bagheri, the director general of the knowledge-based economy coordination office, Akhundi, deputy of economy and investment in Kish Island, and a number of authorities.

During the event, Bagheri pointed out the efforts made by the Vice-Presidency to create a link between knowledge-based companies and experienced economic activists in economic areas such as Kish Island, adding: Kish Innovation Tower provides over 8,000 square meters of space for knowledge-based, creative, and science-based companies located in the country's science and technology parks.

In addition, Bagheri pointed out the agreements made between the Vice-Presidency and Kish Free Zone, expressing: the space must be such that it will become a technology-based export-oriented manufacturing and export activity.

A Suitable Ecosystem for Knowledge-based Activity

The director general of the knowledge-based economy coordination office continued: the Kish Innovation Tower provides work spaces tailored to the needs and types of businesses. Innovative ecosystems of innovation, including knowledge-based, creative or experienced companies in science and technology parks, as well as accelerators can apply directly to the Kish Free Zone Organization.

He also asserted: due to the understanding between the Vice-Presidency and the Supreme Council of Free Zones, knowledge-based companies have been provided with appropriate facilities in other free zones of the country, including Imam Khomeini Airport, Arvand, and Aras.

Technology-based Export

During the event, Naser Akhundi, the deputy of economy and investment in Kish Island, pointed out the programs of the organization to develop export-based businesses, affirming: one of the main activities of Kish Free Zone Organization is the development of new technologies in Kish Island.

The “Kish Innovation Tower” has been created with the goal of using the advantages of Kish region to develop innovative projects and establish smart Kish based on a trilateral agreement signed between Kish Free Zone, the Vice-Presidency, and Iran National Science Fund.
