Despite the sanctions, our knowledge-based companies have been able to produce more than 8400 knowledge-based companies over a period of six years. This year, this uptrend continues to accelerate and is increasing based on the announcement of knowledge-based companies.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, While about 55 requests for knowledge-based companies were registered in 2013, there are currently 4700 companies in Iran.

According to the announcement of the center of knowledge-based companies, more than 8400 knowledge-based products have been recognized in a six-year period and up to the spring of 2019.

The highest statistics were related to the area of “advanced tools and machinery” with the production of more than 2100 knowledge-based products. The second rank was allocated to the field of “information and communication technology and computer software” with the production of more than 1700 products.

“Electrical & electronic hardware, laser & photonics” received the third rank with the production of more than 1600 knowledge-based products. 

From the 4200 knowledge-based companies, two areas of “advanced machines and tools "and" ICT and computer software” had the highest frequency of knowledge-based companies with more than 900 knowledge-based companies.

Knowledge-based companies in Iran are active in various fields. Commercialization services, advanced drugs, biotechnology, advanced materials and products based on chemical technology, and medical equipment are other fields of Iranian knowledge-based.
