The national macro project of “remote rehabilitation technologies development center” was opened in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, to accelerate the pace of developing a technological model for telehealth rehabilitation.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, implementation of this national macro project provides an opportunity for patients to improve at home using new technologies. The patient is on the path to treatment by performing home rehabilitation exercises. Of course, monitoring is carried out by a remote therapist. These exercises have also been designed to play games using technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and machine processing.

Helping the Disabled and Patients

The benefits of establishing this center include reduced commute of patients, time management of treatment sessions, covering 60-70% of occupational therapy processes, and using virtual reality, biofeedback, gaming and body movement measurement technologies.

The model of development of remote rehabilitation methods has been implemented and evaluated in this center. Parkinson's Disease Rehabilitation and Evaluation Kit has also become the first product of the Operations Center.

 

A Technological Supporter for the Elderly

Today, the elderlies constitute six-seven percent of the country’s population, which is expected to be tripled by 2050. As the number of the elderlies increase, so does the growth of diseases such as MS and Parkinson's disease, which require rehabilitation. Therefore, the center has developed tools in this field to see the use of new technology-based therapies. Promoting remote rehabilitation in the bedside is one of the steps that pave the way for this. The vice president of science and technology visited the national grand scheme.
