The Iran Science Elites Federation will support PhD students and faculty members to participate in sabbatical leaves outside the country to expand scientific interactions.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, Creating beneficial scientific relations among Iranian researchers and scientists of other countries can be effective in scientific expansion of the country. In this context, the Iran Science Elites Federation will support faculty members and PhD students to participate in sabbatical leaves. The program is carried out to increase scientific interactions and the presence of researchers in valid scientific centers across the world.

Support Conditions

Researchers requesting for support must have an acceptable science index. In addition, they must receive an invitation letter from one of the scientific figures overseas. Invitations for Iranian researchers are divided into three groups. Invitations for Iranian researchers are divided into three groups.

The first group is award winners, such as the Nobel Prize, Kavli Prize, Fields Medal, and the Mustafa Prize. The second group is researchers who have published at least two articles in the most valid global journals (approved by Iran Science Elites Federation). Finally, the third group includes researchers who have published at least 15 articles in journals belonging to the B group (in terms of validation).

Accepted Journals

In this context, Iran Science Elites Federation stated: “the applicant researchers must know that the group-A journals are only nature and science journals and other nature publication journals are not in this category. A journal such as Nature Genetic is in group B while Nature Biotechnology is in group C. On the other hand, while the Scientific Reports Journal is a subcategory of nature publications, it is mentioned in none of the groups.”

Support Amount

The support amount is different depending on the sabbatical leave and the person sending the invitation in terms of global scientific rank. This amount varies from seven million Rials to 30 million Rials per month. Furthermore, 50% of incentives are paid before departure and the rest will be paid after returning and presenting a report. The support can be provided for a maximum of one year.
