Seyed Reza Hosseini, head of the Young Researchers Club, said Iran's recent accomplishments include securing first place in astronomy and astrophysics and achieving third place globally in the overall medal rankings, trailing only the US and China.
Hosseini made the remarks while the first stage of the national scientific Olympiads in Iran began on January 27 and will run until February 3, covering a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, computer science, literature, geography, earth sciences, media literacy, and artificial intelligence.
The addition of the AI Olympiad this year offers a unique opportunity for students and aligns with the global demand for expertise in this field, he said.
Selected students will participate in a summer training camp before representing Iran in international competitions.
He also highlighted the merger of the "Thinking and Entrepreneurship" and "Management and Economics" Olympiads into the new "Management, Economics, and Governance" Olympiad.
