Fars province has a large capacity of expert human resources, valid academic centers, science and technology parks and business accelerators. Application of these capacities is the responsibility of proponents of science and technology.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, This led to the support of establishment of an innovation factory in Shiraz by the Vice-Presidency as one of the main supporters of the ecosystem of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The good experience of Tehran Azadi Factory led to the establishment of a factory in Shiraz and a space with an area of nine thousand m² in the first phase of construction.

The goal of Shiraz Innovation Factory is completing the chain of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the presence of the players of the field in order to increase synergy and growth of ideas of elites and students, and the factory’s areas of activity are market development and technological businesses in the region.

As the pole of technology and innovation in the south of Iran, the goal of Shiraz innovation factory is creating an ecosystem for startups, accelerators, investors, sellers and academic institutions.

The factory is based in the former location of ITMC factories of Shiraz in two storeys. Shiraz Innovation Factory has boomed innovation factory with local access to a space suitable for the presence of technology stakeholders, both companies and startups. The factory will provide at least 1,500 people with permanent employment under the 10-year plan.

In 2020, minimum employment of the first phase of operation of this plant will reach 700 people and employment of the second phase of operation will reach 1,500 in the next year. The factory is set to operate in various areas of IoT, agriculture, health, other energy and tourism. Shiraz Innovation Factory is a dynamic space for technology stakeholders to deploy and support knowledge-based businesses.

The factory has communal workspaces and dormitories, office and special offices, meeting rooms, conference rooms, exhibition and amphitheater, cafes, recreation and entertainment areas, digital content production and gaming studios and business clubs, investment and student interest.

The factory is established based on an agreement signed between the Vice-Presidency, the ministry of information and communication technology and the municipality of Fars, and the bases of the formation of this significant place is the ecosystem of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
