According to the information center of national elites foundation, The technology development headquarters formed in the Vice-Presidency have ultrasectoral structures created for networking, synergy, division of national labor, supporting knowledge-based companies, supporting technology development, technology commercialization and strengthening the legal infrastructures.
Six Missions
In order to keep the balanced development of the science, technology and innovation ecosystem in prioritized fields, the Vice-Presidency has considered six missions for technology development headquarters. These missions involve various fields such as development of research infrastructures, technology development, development of technology in existing industries, market development, facilitation of international cooperation, as well as promotion and culture-building in this regard.
International Achievements of Technology Development Headquarters
The activity of headquarters in the past few years has led to considerable achievements. Achieving a 4th ranking in the field of scientific production and article publication in the nanotechnology field, a 13th biotechnology ranking and a 14th stem cells ranking are other achievements.
Scientific production in these fields has also had a significant impact on the commercial and market dimensions. For instance, the sales rate of nanotechnology products reached 14,000 billion Rials in 2017, and the export of the products in this area of technology exceeded $62 million. In the same time span, more than 80 cellular products were commercialized by 105 active companies in the field.
