The commemoration ceremony of Dr. Seyed Mohammad Hossein Mobayen, a physician and father of leprosy in Iran, will be held.

According to the information center of national elites foundation, in line with honoring the elite services and necessity of creating role models from domestic figures for the academic society and top talents, the commemoration ceremony of Dr. Seyed Mohammad Hossein Mobayen, an outstanding physician and father of leprosy of Iran, will be held in line with guiding the elite power toward the required sections of the country and creating and increasing a sense of social responsibility among the top talents.

The ceremony will be held September 19^th, 2019 by the efforts of the elites foundation of East Azarbaijan Province in cooperation with Shahriar Research Foundation.

It is noteworthy that Seyed Mohammad Hossein Mobayen was born on December 5^th, 1927 in Tabriz and is reminded as the “father of leprosy of Iran” due to his extensive activities on the leprosy disease and complete eradication of the disease in Iran.

In addition to medicine, Dr. Mobayen was also active in the field of literature and poetry. His pen name was “Shemshak”, and he published many works in different literature fields, especially the literature of Azarbaijan and children. This outstanding professor passed away in Tabriz on September 28^th, 2015.
