In a meeting attended by university presidents, members of parliament, the governor, and local elites, Hossein Afshin described Ilam as a key hub for fostering knowledge-based enterprises and innovative ventures.  

Afshin noted that the province, with over 20,000 active university students, possesses a rich human capital and a strong potential for transforming creative ideas into technological products. 

However, he criticized the lower number of knowledge-based companies in Ilam compared to other provinces and emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive support to enhance innovation.  

Afshin reaffirmed the Vice Presidency’s readiness to back research and innovation projects, pledging full support in collaboration with universities and research centers to strengthen the province’s knowledge-based economy.  

The governor of Ilam, appreciating Afshin’s visit, stressed the importance of nurturing local talent and supporting entrepreneurship to drive the province’s economic development. 

Meanwhile, parliamentary representatives and university officials shared their insights and recommendations on expanding knowledge-based activities and supporting scientific talent.
